Every month, the Four Pointes Center for Successful Aging offers more than 50 activities ranging from fitness, learning, arts, recreation, and events. Here’s an overview of the action here at Four Pointes.


Gentle Movement with Tai Chi

A program that emphasizes improvement in mobility with a focus on movements that slowly build the muscles that surround painful, weakened joints.

Advanced Tai Chi

An ancient system of blending breathing and movement to improve your balance and coordination. Beginning class is also offered.

Gentle Yoga

This gentle class is accessible to almost all members. Class works with breath and movement, easier and modified postures, body awareness, gentle stretching and strengthening, and relaxation.

Chair Aerobics

An energetic 30-minute low impact chair aerobic class. Enjoy exercises designed to improve your flexibility, range of motion, strength and aerobic endurance.

Stretch + Tone

A low impact fitness class that develops strength, flexibility, muscle tone and endurance. All fitness levels welcome.

Advanced Stretch + Tone

This 45-minute program will challenge your cardiovascular and strength endurance. Incorporating conditioning exercises that use your body weight in addition to exercise balls, bands and hand weights, you will be working up a sweat in no time.

Beginning Line Dancing

This 8-week session brings everything back to the basics. You will learn basic steps and build confidence.

Line Dancing

Fun fitness dance class covering the techniques of line dancing with the goal of a more flexible and fit body. Beginning class also offered.

Tap Dancing

Balance, coordination and toning come together in this fitness class.

Belly Dancing

This soulful dance form will help improve coordination, balance, muscle tone and posture. Learn basic steps and combinations.


This sport combines the elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis, and is played on a court with the same dimensions as a badminton court.

Zumba Gold

An energetic, low-impact workout using dance and rhythm to improve cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and flexibility. Come join the party!

Ping Pong

All ages and physical abilities are able to participate. Supports hand-eye coordination, agility and fun!


Pilates is a system of controlled exercises that engage the mind and condition the total body. A blend of strength and flexibility training improves posture and reduces stress. Pilates takes a balanced approach so that no muscle group is overworked and the body moves as an efficient, holistic system in sport and daily activity.




This forum gives community service providers and other presenters the opportunity to share and promote topics “For Your Information.”


Nancy Buchanan shares her insights about various topics that impact our everyday world. You’ll see things from a whole new perspective after hearing her presentations!

Memory Writer

Take time once a month to come and get comfortable writing the stories of your life. Tricia McDonald guides you through the process. You will amaze yourself!

Reine’s Garden

Garden enthusiast and botanical expert Reini Moser takes us on tour with her beautiful slides and wonderful travel stories.

Knitters Circle

Gather on Tuesday morning starting around 9:30. Bring your knitting project and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow knitters.

Build It Fly It

Join these model enthusiasts as they build a fabulous radio-controlled airplane. The object is to have fun building a plane (work together on the instructor’s model or bring your own), then take it out and fly it! Friday mornings at 10 a.m.

Coffee Klatch

Just like the old days in the neighborhood. Enjoy chatting with friends, old and new, over a cup of coffee or tea. Discussion topics vary with interest.



Drawing With Confidence

Patty Warner leads you through just what she says: “Drawing with Confidence!” Here is your opportunity to have fun, learn something about how you look at the world and get it on paper. Supply list available in the art studio. $5 per session.

Lessons in Watercolor

Deborah Lass teaches this great class for beginners as well as for seasoned watercolorists. $15 for 3 classes.


This talented crafting group is amazing. A dollar and a spirit of fun will bring you a very pleasant morning!

One Stroke Painting

Using the Donna Dewberry method, Marcia Szymczyk expertly leads and inspires this class. $5 per session covers all the fun and supplies. No reservation necessary. Beginners fit right in!

Art With Shirley

Get creative during this engaging art program with a primary focus on watercolor painting. Whether it’s your first time or you are a veteran painter, Shirley will lead you through an experience that will increase both confidence and ability.

Musical Jam Session

The goal of this group is to have fun with music and act like we are part of a REAL band. If our group had a name it would be “Pointless.” Bring your instrument and/or your voice as we are recruiting new members. Piano and drums already set up!

Wood Carvers

This class is for any ability level while offering many forms of woodcarving. Come and learn to carve or spend time with others who enjoy the craft.



Scrabble, Mah Jongg, Bridge, Euchre, Bingo, Hand & Foot, Shuffleboard, Billiards



Foxy Ladies Lunch

These Red Hatters meet monthly for lunch (usually a Wednesday) and make the rounds of local eateries wearing their Red Hat finery. New members are always welcome!

Mall Run

A lift to the Lakes Mall with door-to-door service from the Grand Haven Activity Center. Designed for those who don’t drive or simply don’t care to drive themselves. Call for a reservation: 616-842-9210. Offered the first or second Friday of the month.

Book Club

Join this monthly discussion and the book for the following month will be provided.

Monthly Birthday Lunch

Join us for entertainment, a nice lunch, drawings, and time to celebrate the month’s birthdays with friends, old and new. Pre-paid reservation required ($5).
